Local Photography Club exhibits this summer in Ashington Town Centre

Now in its 92nd year, Ashington Camera Club will hold its annual photography exhibition this summer.

With images captured by amateur photographers. This year the exhibition will take place on the high street, at Unit 1, Wansbeck Square in Ashington Town Centre, NE63 9HX.

Ashington Camera Club are a community-based camera club helping each other to learn and share a passion for photography.

The local exhibition will take place over the summer week from Saturday 1st July- Sunday 9th July, from 10am-4pm. Everyone is welcome to pop in and see the art.

As the exhibition features the work of its members it includes a wide variety of colour and monochrome work including portraiture, landscapes, nature, street photography, still life and creative images.  It is an opportunity to see some fantastic work of local photographers.

Ashington Camera club has been in operation since1931. It all started with a group of 13 people; the first meeting was held at the Hirst School. The club at present has about 40 members who meet on a Thursday evening from 7pm-9pm in St Aiden’s Community Hall, Park Rd Ashington. NE63 8DZ. Apart from a break at Christmas the club runs all year round.

The exhibition is being sponsored by Ashington Town Council, with a unit rented from Advance Northumberland.
